Tips for Safer Surgery (Courtesy of the Surgical Care Improvement Project Partnership)
The following documents will help you better understand what to expect after your surgery, including limitations, pain control, diet, and common issues that may occur, as well as the best way to solve these issues. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you read these instructions prior to surgery and refer to them after your surgery. You will receive instructions when you are discharged from the hospital, but they will not be as detailed as what you find here:
|Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)||Arteriogram|
|Carotid Endarterectomy||Varicose Vein Ligation|
|Varicose Vein Ablation (In Office)|
See our "Ultrasound" page for more information about testing that we perform in the office
Diagnostic testing is commonly used to diagnose or confirm a diagnosis for the majority of conditions that we treat. If testing cannot be performed at our office we prefer, if possible, to have testing be completed at St. Luke's Hospital, or its Desloge Outpatient Center, to ensure easy access to well executed studies. If your insurance does not allow this we suggest Metro Imaging.
Location of St. Luke's Hospital Radiology Department (314-205-6565): 2nd floor of the main hospital, across from the Emergency Room
Location of St. Luke's Desloge Outpatient Center (Building A): Across Highway 141 from the main hospital campus
Be sure to call our office 4-5 days after any diagnostic imaging / testing to receive the results.
