Our colorectal surgeon is a Fellow in the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS). The ASCRS website offers a wealth of knowledge about specific surgeries, including: videos, anatomy involved, the disease process, & information on the operation itself.

  • Topics discussed include: Anal Abscess – Fistula, Anal Cancer, Anal Fissure, Anal Pain, & Rectal Prolapse. Information is also available in Spanish.
  •  A free program offered by Coloplast for patients with an ostomy. Basic information is covered, as well as videos, troubleshooting guides, testimonials, etc.

It is very important to know what type of colonoscopy you are having preformed. Your insurance company treats the 3 types of colonoscopies – Screening, Diagnostic, and Surveillance – very differently. Most insurance companies cover a screening colonoscopy 100%, but certain criteria MUST be met.
